IBD & Ostomy Care

Support for inflammatory bowel disease, ostomy and J-pouch patients — grounded in Dr. Teja's own diagnosis at 22, two surgeries, and life without a colon, not just what she learned in school.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 22, in the middle of pharmacy school. Within a few years I'd had two surgeries — an ileostomy, then a J-pouch — and I've lived without a colon ever since. I know what it's like to sit across from a provider who's never actually lived what they're treating, and I never wanted to be that for my patients.

This isn't a replacement for your gastroenterologist. It's what happens between those appointments — making sense of flare patterns, medication side effects, nutrition during a flare versus remission, and the parts of ostomy or J-pouch life that never come up in a 10-minute follow-up.

Whether you're newly diagnosed, years into it, or living with an ostomy or J-pouch, care here starts with your actual history — surgeries, medications, what's worked and what hasn't — not a generic IBD protocol.

What to expect
